/ English
The main language will be English!

The retreat starts on Friday at 19.00 (Centre is open from 16.00) and finishes on Sunday after lunchtime. The programme involves sitting and walking meditation, meditation instructions, dhamma talks and group interviews. In addition, there will be working meditation for about an hour each day.

Sayadaw U TejaniyaGuidance and teachings are given by Sayadaw U Tejaniya. Translation during instructions, dhamma talks and interviews is provided by MaThet.
Sayadaw U Tejaniya began his Buddhist training as a young teenager in Burma under the late Shwe Oo Min Sayadaw (1913–2002). Twenty years ago, after a business career and life as husband and father, he entered Shwe Oo Min Dhamma Sukha Forest Meditation Centre in Yangon, Myanmar as a monk. He teaches and leads retreats in Myanmar and occasionally in the USA and Europe. Sayadaw’s approach is relaxed, full of humour and emphasises the challenges we face in daily life. His books, “Don’t Look Down on the Defilements, They Will Laugh at You”, “Awareness alone is not Enough” and “Dhamma Everywhere: Welcoming each Moment with Awareness + Wisdom”, reflect his teachings: accessible, practical and true to the traditional teachings of the Buddha. Mindfulness starts with ‘right view’, and wisdom is as important as being aware.
